From J.E. Tada's More Precious than Silver
I want to be sensitive to the Spirit's touch, don't you? A soul that is sensitive to Sin, that resonates at the slightest movement of the Spirit. A soul that quivers when the breath of God all but touches it. [To do so], be ready, stretch out your branches, unfurl your heart to God, for you never know when His Wind [Spirit] will rise your way.
In my life I have often found that God is not hiding from us...but we may be hiding from God. Often, without thinking. We go our merry way, off to work, school, house, even church, without so much as speaking to God or even thinking about Him.
And then we wonder why we don't "feel" God's presence at all times.
Oh,no. He is there. But we become desensitized to His presence by ignoring Him with our "things". We watch TV. We spend time reading other things than the Bible or Biblical based study books, listen to the latest songs. We buy the newest cell phone, the newest car, the newest clothes. We get totally wrapped around other things. These may not all even be in the category of bad things---but I would probably classify them as such when they drag my attention from God. They then become gods in that they have our full attention (and thus, worship).
We all do it. It happens. But we have to make certain to focus on God more than the things of the world, so that then we feel His comforting presence, the glory of His love surrounding us. He is there, but it is so easy for the world to cover our faces with so many scarves of entertainment, etc., that we do not focus on our true King and Lord. We miss out on what is truly important and many times what God is showing us. We must not let that happen, and let the fire of the Lord burn bright before us that we may worship our God with the fullness of our hearts and spirits---because even in the midst of suffering that is the most comforting thing to do.

Col 1:15-19
15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. 19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him
