Col 1:15-19
15
The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. 19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him

Freedom

Those who believe Him discover that God is true. For He is sent by God. He speaks God's Words, for God's Spirit is upon Him without measure or limit. Jn 3:33-34

(Spirit without measure---how amazing!)

From Recover Bible: Sometimes we don't want to know God's will because there are areas in our life that we aren't ready to deal with. Recovery is a process [for all]. We may be ready to pray for God's will is some areas but feel uncomfortable having God's light shine into areas that are still hidden in shame [or that we lovingly cling to like a child with a bedraggled blanket that desperately needs a washing machine]. Darkness is great when we are trying to hide something [and keep miserable], but light is needed when we are trying to walk without falling. When we are hiding out shame behavior and holding on to our addiction [be it alcohol, gossiping, buying things, being depressed etc], the darkness seemed like our friend. Now that we are trying to walk toward recover, we need the light to keep us from stumbling.

How often do we cling to our sin! And how the Darkness feeds into that, making it seem like a cozier plan to keep drinking, buying, lying, whatever. So much easier than doing what is godly and right. We are so afraid to let go of sins that we pray empty prayers. We don't even mean what we say when we are asking for "help" to stop a sin. We ask it with emptiness in our heart, another lie. We know we have anger at so-and-so for spilling a secret, or another for lying. We don't let the light in, because we love to hang onto that forbidden love and passion of sin. Its lure is the most attractive being ever seen, so we only pray what will avoid disturbing that small cancerous mass of sin...allowing ourselves to be poisoned by sin.
Pray fearlessly. The light does poison those pulsating sin tumors, but how much weight will fall from one after the light destroys it, and you ask forgiveness for clinging to poison so long. If you cannot pray that that poisonous lump of sin die...ask that you will want it to. That you would see how horrible and deforming that sin really is to your soul.
