Verses to Touch the Soul

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all out afflictions, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ's sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too. 2 Cor 1.3-5

and who has also put His seal on us and given us His Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee. 2 cor 1.22

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 2 Cor 3.17


So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing us for an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal. 2 Cor 4.16-18

but as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: by great endurance, in afflictions, hardships, calamities, beatings, imprisonments, riots,labors, sleepless nights, hunger; by purity, knowledge, patience, kindness, the Holy Spirit, genuine love; by truthful speech, and the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and for the left.  2 Cor 6.5-7

your abundance at the present time should supply their need, so tat their abundance may supply your need, that there may be fairness. 2 Cor 8.14 
~ while this verse in context is speaking to the Corinthians about sending funds to another church after that other church has assisted (as I recall)...I was thinking how it nearly applies to us who have/are suffering. We can assist each other in so many ways, if we will just DO so. 

And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every great work. 2 Cor 9.8-9
~We so often have so much to use in our lives, and are blessed in many, many ways, despite our suffering. We just need to sit and think about it....and often the list becomes so overwhelming one has to stop thinking on it.
