Col 1:15-19
15
The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. 19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him

Not in Cahoots

From J.E Tada's More Precious than Silver

[Do not imagine that] God and the devil are in cahoots. God must control evil...He does so because He is good [and what evil is allowed MUST serve a greater good than NOT having the evil happen] Imagine a God who didn't deliberately permit the smallest details of your particular sorrows? What if your trials weren't screened by Him? Think of how, by God's grace, you are managing your problems. And consider how it could be worse , were it not for God?

Again, people may counter, God could just fix it all! and I do not even pretend to know the ways that God works. But He does control things...and stops some things from happening.
I was reading last night in another Timothy Keller book about the section in Mark where the woman from Tyre came to beg Jesus to save her daughter from a demon.
It cane to me, then, that it is those of us who stop searching for help out of our mini-gods, or our mini-god self, and are willing to focus 100% in God and leaning on Him.
Sometimes, with the sins of generations piling up on us, each day more toxic than the last with sin....it takes a higher crisis to make us look to God.
We can be mini-gods with so many things. I have been a mini-god in my lifetime so many times. Just going along, never giving God the time of day. There really was less happiness in that time. Just a false sense of independence. You are relying on one or the other; God or the World. One will let you down to the point of destruction, and like it, the other is desperate that none of us be lost.

So choose right. Choose Him. Choose not your mini-god self....because, quite honestly....we are really stupid in making the right choice in life as a god, and we are really at that point choosing someone else who enjoys destruction. We like what looks like a good deal, we can't control anything....and when we are being mini-gods, we are worshiping something we should not be worshiping. Only one Being is worthy of worship. And only one Being is reaching out to you. So step into the light and into His holy arms, and take rest.
