God's Word reminds us that humility, gentleness, patience, long-suffering, kindness and goodness are character  qualities that tower heads above strong, aggressive of unwavering. The humble and gentle people are those we find ourselves drawn to when we feel burdened or weary. Somehow we know these are the people who genuinely care, who actually pray and who in fact take our load upon them. 

In today's society...being many of the things in the aforementioned list is "uncool" and "undesirable". The most wished for assets are those of power. Society demands it in movies, books, magazines, tv shows. Yet while many of us may dream and/or make efforts to become people like that due to desires to be "cool"...I think that honestly none of us really even like people who behave in that manner. At least not if we are being honest with ourselves. 
We are more truly drawn to those who imitate our Lord, especially if we continue to seek out people who have one (or more!) of these attributes. These people are soothing to our souls, and give us a glimpse at the shadow of an aspect of our King. Sadly...we will never be perfect in those here, but by asking for help from the Lord each day, I imagine He gives strength to whatever gift(s) we have.
