One of the things that happens when chronically ill is fear. I can fear that my medication will stop working. I can fear I will be sicker than I am now. I have been a fearful person all of my life, sometimes more than others. Here's a verse I found in my reading that was comforting:
1 God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
3 though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging
Psalm 46
I am less fearful with God.
