Today the puppies get the joy of having their tails docked. We are not doing ears, though, as we love or schnauzers' long ears! Adds a lot to the dog, having their ears fall up and open as they grin up at you.
The kennel, if we call our dogs that, has been stricken, however. All but the male, Mister, have a bacterial intestinal infection. I have had to clean up the floor more times in the last few days than when we first got Zoe. (Zoe came from an out-and-out puppy mill, though at the time it did not seem like it. We took her to the vet so many times. She had, we eventually found, four different intestinal parasites, and the irritation from those caused a lot of trouble.The parasites, too, each required a different antihelmith medication...making treatment hard until we all (vet included) knew that).
However, we have antibiotics, a mild dewormer, as apparently helmiths take advantage of these illnesses (and puppies) by breeding/multiplying rapidly. Everyone seems to be on the mend.
