Shut Tight

I have always liked the verse of Jesus speaking on how even the pagans love their children. That is nothing extraordinary, it is more extraordinary to love those who do not like us, or those who ardently hate us. An impossible feat for us---without the Spirit of God.
God is love as the Scriptures point out in verse upon verse. With the Spirit of God within us, is all to natural for the most unnatural to occur: loving someone "unlovable".
"For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. We have not recieved the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we many understand what God has freely given us." 1 Cor 2.11-12
Think of Jesus reaching out to the lepers, to the Samaritans...to all that was "unlovely" in the world.

I listened to "gossip" the other day, and was offended in finding how quickly people cast judgement. A group of people, speaking against one solitary figure, spread the discord they assume faster than the speed of light. Soon more and more people begin to verbalize how they dislike a certain party...some without having even met the person in question! How dangerous our tongues truly are---how in one moment we speak rot and filth against a fellow disciple, and in the next moment sing praises to God (there is a psalms to this affect, I believe, but naturally cannot find it.)
Oh, that we should watch our wicked mouths and shut them tight, showing by the control we have over it the love of God...that by our actions and very breath there would be such salvation seen as never before.
